1700: Into the Temple Exhibition

Join us for a glass of Champagne at the OSIRIS Exhibition Opening, Friday May 12th, 6pm - 7pm @ Osiris Studio + Gallery, 10 Coolman St Tyalgum. 1700: Into the Temple is a very special Collection of works that have been crafted upon an ancient, sacred smithing anvil that found it's way home to the OSIRIS studio at the beginning of this year. The body of work emerges from this current of ancientness, and echoes symbolisms and stories of times, when adornments were empowered by sacred mysticisms and rituals. The pieces are handrafted from sterling silver and gold, and feature Lapis Lazuli that have been hand cut for each piece. Lapis Lazuli is a stone of spirituality, holding the current...

Ocean

Ocean This piece really drove me -a tidal wave of creative force that would not let me rest until completion. This morning, I  am contemplating this process of creation... I have an intense NEED to create, to express what I am feeling in its most raw, pure form. The more I am involved in this creative process, the deeper it takes hold within me. This is a highly sculptural exploration, which brings about very organic, natural shapes and lines | a discovery of the mysterious forces that bring matter into form. The contemplations behind this work go very deep | into the realms of infinite feeling and allowing that depth to then turn out and be the confession. The inside becomes the outside when the feeling dimension is allowed to exist and flow into the world, and this dimension has the capacity to bring great change. These pieces, however outwardly bold and strong, also hold a great vulnerability in...

Hard Lessons Learnt

Tough day yesterday in the studio. It began with discovering that a ring I had made the day before had to be remade. I was at the final polish stage when I noticed a hairline gap at one point of where the bezel meets the back plate -  because I was recycling my silver and rolling out the back plate, I'd obviously missed a bit filing, hence the gap. Invisible to every eye but mine, my heart sank as I had to put the beautiful ring back on the bench to be cut open carefully to remove the stone, and then rebuilt. There are days that are pure magic in the studio, when everything flows, when the rhythm of the...
